C. Piso L.f. Frugi, 61 BC. Denarius (Silver, 18mm, 3.78 g 7), Rome. Head of Apollo to right, his hair bound with a taenia; behind, pellet-topped pyramid. Rev. C PISO L F FRVG Horseman galloping right, holding reins and palm frond tied with fillet; below legend, S. Babelon (Calpurnia) 24. Crawford 408/1b. Sydenham 860da. Attractive and toned. Extremely fine.

From the Stoecklin Collection, bought from Hans Nussbaum in Zürich between 1933 and January 1939.
