Description

MYSIA, Pergamon. Circa 166-160 BC. Cistophoric tetradrachm (Silver, 31mm, 12.59 g 12). Basket (cista mystica) from which snake coils; around, ivy wreath with fruits. Rev. Two snakes coiled around a bow case; to left, monogram of ΠΕΡΓ; to right, amphora with pointed bottom. Kleiner & Noe Series 8,19. SNG France 1701. Struck on a broad flan with matte surfaces. About extremely fine.
