Description

BITHYNIA, Herakleia Pontika. Circa 305-281 BC. Didrachm (Silver, 23mm, 9.79 g 12). Head of youthful Herakles to right, wearing lion skin headdress. Rev. ΗΡΑΚΛΕΩΤΑΝ Dionysos seated left on backless throne, holding a kantharos in his outstretched right hand and a thyrsos with his left; below throne, monogram of ΛΟ . RG 44. SNG BM 1616. SNG Stancomb 823-825. Nicely toned and well-struck. About extremely fine.
