MACEDON, Chalkidian League. Circa 432-348 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 22mm, 14.50 g 11), Group J, c. 398-395. Laureate head of Apollo to right, his hair long and falling down the back of his neck. Rev. [Χ]-Α-[Λ] / [Κ]Ι[Δ] / ΕΩΝ Kithara with 7 strings. Robinson & Clement 43 (A33/P49). SNG ANS 477 (same dies = J43 c). An attractive, toned example. Struck on a somewhat tight flan, otherwise, nearly extremely fine.
