SICILY, Syracuse. Circa 510-500 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 22mm, 17.15 g 1). ϞΥΡΑϘΟ / ϞΙΟΝ Male charioteer, holding a goad in his right hand and the reins in both, driving a quadriga walking to right. Rev. Head of Arethusa to left, within small incuse circle at the center of a four-part mill-sail incuse square. Boheringer 3. Cf. Dewing 586 and SNG ANS 1-3. Very rare. A lightly toned, attractive and well- centered example. Nearly extremely fine.
