LUCANIA, Metapontum. Circa 330-290 BC. Didrachm or Nomos (Silver, 20mm, 7.95 g 11). Head of Demeter to left, wearing grain wreath, triple pendant earring and pearl necklace. Rev. ΜΕΤΑ Ear of barley with leaf to left; to left above leaf, pair of tongs; below leaf, ΑΘΑ. HN III 1583. Johnston C4.3. Nicely toned. Some old cleaning scratches, otherwise, good very fine.
