Histamenon (Gold, 27mm, 4.47 g 6), Constantinople. +IhS IXS REX REGNANTIhm Christ, nimbate, seated facing on lyre-backed throne, raising right hand in benediction and holding book of Gospels. Rev. + K&N RACΛ O ΔOVKAC Constantine standing on the left, wearing crown with cross and pendilia and loros, placing right hand on chest and holding globus cruciger surmounted by pelleted cross with left hand, blessed by Virgin Mary, nimbate and veiled, standing beside him; between their heads, M and in upper r. field, Θ. DOC 2. SB 1848. Toned. Some areas of flatness and with a slightly ragged flan, otherwise, about extremely fine.
