Description

Hadrian, 117-138. Denarius (Silver, 17mm, 3.42 g 7), Rome, c. 136. HADRIANVS AVG COS III P P Bare head of Hadrian to right. Rev. AEGYPTOS The personification of Egypt reclining left, holding a sistrum in her right hand and resting her left arm on basket; at her feet, ibis standing right. BMC 797. Cohen 99. Hill 632. RIC 297. A pleasant, lightly toned example. About extremely fine.

From a Swiss collection, acquired from LHS in 2008, and previously from an old Swiss collection.
