Cnaeus Pompeius Magnus (Pompey the Great), 48 BC. Denarius (Silver, 17mm, 3.89 g 6), uncertain Greek mint. CN PISO PRO Q Head of Numa Pompilius to right, wearing diadem inscribed NVMA. Rev. MAGN / PRO.COS Galley prow to right. Babelon (Calpurnia) 30, (Pompeia) 8. Crawford 446/1. CRI 7. Sydenham 1032. Nicely toned. Obverse struck from a worn die, otherwise, about extremely fine.
