Description

Faustus Cornelius Sulla, 56 BC. Denarius (Silver, 18mm, 3.74 g 5), Rome. Diademed, laureate and draped bust of Venus to right, wearing earring and pearl necklace; behind, scepter and S.C Rev. Three military trophies; to left, jug; to right, lituus; in exergue, monogram of FAVSTVS. Babelon (Cornelia) 63. Crawford 426/3. Sydenham 884. Lightly toned and with an attractive large bust of Venus. Struck on a flan made with a cut edge and some striking flatness, otherwise, extremely fine.
