Description

KINGS of MACEDON, Philip II, 359-336 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 23mm, 14.50 g 12), Pella, c. 336/5-329/8. Laureate head of Zeus to right. Rev. ΦΙΛΙΠΠΟΥ Nude jockey on horse prancing to left, holding long palm branch in his right hand; below horse, kantharos. Le Rider 344. Toned and elegant. Some very slight die roughness on the obverse and a very minor double-strike on the reverse, otherwise, about extremely fine.
