Description

CARTHAGE, Unlocated Punic mint. Circa 320/315-305/300 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 25mm, 17.01 g 2), Lilybaion or Entella (?). Head of Tanit-Persephone to left, wearing wreath of grain leaves, triple-pendant earring and pearl necklace; around four dolphins. Rev. ’MMHNT = ”People of the Camp” Horse’s head to left; behind, palm tree. Jenkins 186 (dies O55/R 163). Sharply struck and attractively toned. Some minor die rust on the obverse, otherwise, extremely fine.
