Description

CALABRIA, Tarentum. Circa 465-455 BC. Nomos (Silver, 19mm, 7.92 g 12). ΤΑΡΑϞ Phalanthos, nude, riding dolphin to left, both of his arms outstretched to left; below, scallop shell. Rev. Hippocamp to right. Fischer-Bossert 108 g (this coin). Jameson 87 (this coin). Vlasto 136. Nicely toned, and with an excellent reverse. Somewhat rough surfaces, otherwise, good very fine.
