Description

[Nanteuil.] Florange, J. & Ciani, L. Collection de monniaes grecques H. de Nanteuil. Paris, 1925. Two parts in one volume. Thick 4to., pp. xiv, 343, (2); 59 plates. Somewhat crudely bound in later red half morocco, marbled boards and endpapers. Raised bands, red title labels to the spine, lettered in gilt. The boards lightly rubbed with some nicks, a little dusty but the contents clean. Very good overall.
An important collection, listing over 1,000 coins from Spain to the Aegean Islands and catalogued with the assistance of Jean Babelon. The collection was added to up until the 1970’s at which point it was gradually dispersed, predominantly through the Leu sales of the time. Clain-Stefanelli 1931. Daehn 2041. Grierson p. 57. Kroh p. 12.
