Attractively bound in contemporary burgundy half morocco, five raised bands, elegant gilt decoration in compartments, the second compartment lettered direct in gilt. Marbled boards and endpapers, double gilt fillets to the upper and lower boards, the top edge gilt. The boards rubbed with some wear to the joints and extremities, the text lightly browned, the plates clean and bright with no foxing. An attractive, almost fine copy of this classic work on the ancient coins of Italy, very rarely offered.
