Constantine I augustus, 307 – 337. Medallion of 1 ½ solidi, Siscia 327, AV 6.83 g. Diademed head r. Rev. GLORIA CON – STANTINI AVG Emperor walking r., holding bound captive with r. hand and trophy on l. shoulder; at feet, bound captive with head turned towards the emperor. In exergue, SIS. C 237. Gnecchi 20. Alföldi 166. RIC 206. Bastien, Donativa p. 79, note c. Depeyrot p. 153.
Very rare. An impressive medallion with a wonderful portrait and a finely
detailed reverse composition. Wonderful reddish tone, an almost invisible edge
mark at eight o’clock on obverse, otherwise good extremely fine
