Domitian caesar, 69 - 81. Aureus 73, AV 7.28 g. CAES AVG F – DOMIT COS II Laureate head r. with slight beard. Rev. Domitian on horseback l., raising r. hand and holding in l. hand sceptre. C 663. BMC Vespasian 123. RIC Vespasian 540. CBN Vespasian 104 var. (different arrangement of obverse legend). Calicó 812b.
A very rare variety. A lovely portrait struck on a very large flan and with a delicate
reddish tone, almost invisible marks, otherwise good extremely fine
