Stater struck under tyrant Alexander circa 369-358, AR 11.92 g. ΕΝ – ΝΟΔ – ΙΑΣ Laureate head of Ennodia r., wearing earrings and pearl necklace. Rev. ΑΛ – ΕΞΑΝΔ – ΡΕ – Ι – Ο – Σ Alexander on horseback galloping r., holding reins and spear; on horse’s rump, double axe. Wartenberg 17 (this coin). BCD Thessaly I, 1308 (this coin). BCD Thessaly II, –.
Apparently unique. A very important and interesting issue with a wonderful portrait,
the work of a very talented master engraver. Surface somewhat corroded,
otherwise about extremely fine
