Tetradrachm, Lampsacus circa 297-281, AR 16.97 g. Diademed head of deified Alexander r., with the horn of Ammon. Rev. ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ – ΛΥΣΙΜΑΧΟΥ Athena enthroned l., holding Nike and spear in r. hand and resting l. elbow on shield decorated with lion's head; in inner field l., monogram and in exergue, crescent to l. SNG Lockett 1429. Dewing 1350. Thompson, Essays Robinson, 49.
A wonderful portrait of masterly style struck on a very large flan.
Lovely light iridescent tone and good extremely fine
