Lucania, Heraclea
Nomos circa 390-340 BC, AR 7.89 g. Head of Athena r., wearing Attic helmet decorated with Scylla hurling a stone. Rev. Heracles standing facing, strangling the Nemean lion; between Heracles’ legs, owl; in l. field, club. Van Keuren 50. Historia Numorum Italy 1377.
Light tone, minor metal flaw on obverse, otherwise very fine
