Probus, 276 – 282
Antoninianus (?) or pattern strike, struck with a die of an aureus, Siscia 276-282, billon 3.17 g. IMP C M AVR PROBVS AVG Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust r. Rev. CONS – ERVAT AVG Sol standing facing, raising r. hand and holding globe in l. C cf. 175 (aureus). RIC cf. 915 (aureus, Antiochia). Calicó cf. 4149 (aureus). Cf. Nomos sale 11, 2015, 208 for another pattern strike.
A very interesting and intriguing issue. Silvering almost intact and good extremely fine
