GREEK COINS
The Carthaginians in Sicily and North Africa
Tetradrachm, uncertain mint in Sicily circa 320-315, AR 16.88 g. Barley wreathed head of Tanit l., wearing earring and necklace; around, four dolphins. Rev. Head of horse l.; behind, palm tree with clusters of dates; beneath truncation of the neck, 'mmhnt in Punic characters. Hunterian 10 (these dies). Weber 1775. Jenkins 184.
Struck on a very broad flan and exceptionally complete. Light
iridescent tone and good extremely fine
From the collection of a Swiss lawyer purchased in the 1980s and the early 1990s.
