Nomos circa 500, AR 6.89 g. META Ear of barley; in r. field, grasshopper. Rev. Ear of barley incuse; in l. field, outline of a dolphin. Gorini 10 and p. 136 (these dies). SNG ANS 1207 (these dies). AMB 130 (these dies). Johnston-Noe 101. Gillet 132 (this coin). Historia Numorum Italy 1472.
Very rare and possibly the finest specimen known. Well-struck in high relief and
with an attractive old cabinet tone. Unobtrusive die-break
on reverse, otherwise about extremely fine
