Octavian, 32 – 27. Denarius, Brundisium or Roma Autumn 30-Summer 29 BC, AR 3.91 g. Head of Mars r. with slight beard, wearing crested Corinthian helmet; below, IMP. Rev. CAESAR on rim of shield, with eight-rayed star at centre, set on spear and sword in saltire. C 44. BMC 644. RIC 274. Sear Imperators 428. CBN 87. Perfectly centred on a full flan and with a delightful iridescent tone. Extremely fine
