Kings of Bythinia, Prusias I, circa 230 – 182. Tetradrachm circa 230-182, AR 16.95 g. Diademed head r. Rev. ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ / ΠΡΟΥΣΙΟΥ Zeus standing l., holding wreath in r. hand and lotus tipped sceptre in l.; thunderbolt above two monograms in inner l. field. Recueil Géneral II, p. 220, 9 and pl. 29, 10 (this obverse die). BMC Pontus p. 209, 1-2. Jameson 1387 var. (different monogram). SNG Copenhagen 623. A bold portrait and a very pleasant old cabinet tone.
