Description

Sicily, Panormos, tetradrachm, c. 360-340 BC, quadriga driven right with Nike above crowning the charioteer; in ex., hippocamp and Punic name of city ziz, rev., head of Tanit left with three dolphins around, 18.06g, die axis 9.00 (Jenkins, SNR 50, pl. 10, 31, same dies), obverse die flaw, good very fine and rare. Provenance: Jacques Schulman 232, 9 March 1959, lot 1309.
