Gold Dinar Coin of Kumaragupta I of Gupta Dynasty of Archer type.
Gupta Dynasty, Kumaragupta I (Mahendraditya) (415-455 AD), Gold Dinar, "Archer" type, With 'Ku', Obv: king, nimbate standing facing left, holding bow in his left hand and arrow in right hand, Garuda standard at left, Brahmi letter 'Ku' under the arm which holds the bow, Brahmi legend "Vijitavani (ravanipatih Kumaragupto divam jaya) ti", first and last letter of the legend is shown beside both sides of king's head, Rev: goddess Lakshmi seated on a lotus in padmasana facing front, holding diadem in her right hand while the left is resting on her thigh, a lotus is seen adjacent to the goddess's face, its stem is seen rising from under her left arm, tamgha at top left, Brahmi legend "Sri Mahendra" in the right field, 8.13g, 18.42mm, (Variant of Altekar, Bayana Hoard # Pl. XX-5/TOTGE, S. Kumar # Class III-Var. A), choice very fine, Very Rare. The pattern of diadem held by queen is uncommon for the type.
