Gupta Dynasty, Samudragupta (335-370 AD), Gold Dinar, “Sceptre/Standard” type, Obv: king, nimbate, standing facing left, holding royal sceptre (Rajadhanda) adorned with ribbon in left hand and sacrificing over altar, Garuda standard at left, Brahmi legend “Samudra” below king's arm, circular Brahmi legend around “Samarasasata......jayo jitaripuraji...”, Rev: goddess Lakshmi, nimbate, seated on high backed throne, holding diadem and cornucopia, tamgha at upper left, both feet are resting on a circular mat, four legs of the throne clearly visible and Brahmi legend “Parakramah” in the right field, 7.64g, 20.41mm, (variant of Altekar, Bayana Hoard # Pl. II-13/TOTGE, S. Kumar # Class II -Var. A), choice extremely fine, Very Rare.
