Description

Bristol Bank 5 Pounds cut-cancelled across signature dated 8th October 1807 number D420 for Miles, Vaughan, Miles, Baugh and Birch where Birch has been struck off, manuscript signatures for Entered Wm. Holmes and the other cut-cancelled (Outing 305b, Grant 468K), an Exceptionally Rare example in VF or about minor wear holes in design and expected for a note over 2 centuries old. The note uniface displaying a vignette of Bristol city Coat of Arms at centre left with text Corn Street beneath, G. Johnson fc. Britsol imprint and an embossed Revenue stamp at lower centre. Printed on watermarked paper with faintly visible partnership in an enframed design. A unique opprtunity to aquire this seldom seen note with the last date before the Birch name was removed completely from partnership and possibly very few survivors of this bank and issue left remaining especially in private hands, the British museum currently holds 2 similar grade examples in their collection available for view on their website
