★ Nicely toned and of fine style ★

LUCANIA. Velia. Circa 300-280 BC. Didrachm or Nomos (Silver, 22 mm, 7.37 g, 10 h). Head of Athena to right, wearing crested, winged and laureate Attic helmet; before, Φ; behind neck, monogram of AH. Rev. YEΛHTΩN / Φ - I Lion walking right; above, grain ear; below, Π. HN Italy 1309. Williams 472 (O236/R333). Nicely toned and of fine style. Small test cut or banker's mark on the obverse and with some scratches, otherwise, very fine.

From an old Swiss collection, formed in the 1970s.
