★ Bright, lustrous and virtually as struck ★

CALABRIA. Tarentum. Circa 240-228 BC. Didrachm or Nomos (Silver, 18 mm, 6.61 g, 7 h), Xenokrates, magistrate. Dioskouros on horseback to left; above, monogram and laureate pileos; below, ΞENOKPA/THΣ. Rev. TAPAΣ Youthful oikist, nude but for chlamys, riding dolphin to left, holding trident over his right shoulder and lifting drapery with his left; to right, monogram; below, waves and cuttlefish. HN Italy 1058. Vlasto 955-957. Bright and lustrous. Traces of overstriking (?), otherwise, virtually as struck.
