★ Herakliskos Drakonopnigon ★

BRUTTIUM. Kroton. Circa 400-325 BC. Stater (Silver, 21 mm, 7.52 g, 7 h). ΚΡΟΤΟΝΙΑ-ΤΑΣ Laureate head of Apollo with long hair to right. Rev. The Herakliskos Drakonopnigon: the Infant Herakles, nude, crouching facing on rocky floor, his head turned to left, strangling a serpent in each hand. Dewing 513. HN Italy 2157. Leu 81 (2001), 37 ( same dies ). Jameson 433-4. SNG ANS 384-388. Beautifully toned and of very elegant style. Good very fine.
