Description

★ Very sharp and attractive ★

CALABRIA. Tarentum. Circa 332-302 BC. Didrachm or Nomos (Silver, 23 mm, 7.89 g, 10 h), Sa... and Sym..., magistrates. Nude youth riding horse galloping to right, raising his right hand to crown the horse's head; below, ΣA. Rev. [TAPAΣ] Youthful oikist, nude, riding dolphin to left, his right arm outstretched and holding long palm frond in his left hand; behind, crested Corinthian helmet to left; below the dolphin, ΣY[M]. HN Italy 941. Vlasto 651 ( same dies ). A very sharp and attractive coin. The obverse struck somewhat off center, otherwise, virtually as struck.
