★ An exceptional quinarius from the Aedui ★
CELTIC, Central Gaul. Aedui. Circa 60-50 BC. Quinarius (Silver, 14 mm, 1.97 g, 9 h), Viipotal. Diademed female head to left. Rev. [V]IIPOTAL Warrior standing front, holding boar standard and trophy (?) in his extended right hand and placing his left on shield. DT 3215. LT 4484. SLM 186-187. Sharply struck on excellent metal, an exceptional example. Struck on a somewhat short flan as usual, otherwise, good extremely fine.
