KINGS OF MACEDON. Alexander III ‘the Great’, 336-323 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 24 mm, 17.22 g, 9 h), Tarsos, struck under Menes or Philotas, circa 327-323. Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion skin headdress. Rev. AΛEΞANΔPOY Zeus seated left on low throne, holding long scepter in his left hand and eagle standing right with closed wings in his right; to left, plow; to inner right, •. Price 3031. Sharply struck and attractive. Some toning on the obverse, otherwise, about extremely fine.
