Description

KINGS OF MACEDON. Alexander III ‘the Great’, 336-323 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 26 mm, 17.04 g, 9 h), Tarsos, struck under Menes or Philotas, circa 327-323. Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion skin headdress. Rev. AΛEΞANΔPOY Zeus seated left on low throne, holding long scepter in his left hand and eagle standing right with closed wings in his right; to left, plow; below throne and to inner right, two pellets. Price 3018. Very minor flan flaw on the obverse, otherwise, good very fine.
