Description

KINGS OF MACEDON. Alexander III ‘the Great’, 336-323 BC. Drachm (Silver, 19 mm, 4.16 g, 12 h), Mylasa, circa 295-275. Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion skin headdress. Rev. AΛEΞANΔPOY Zeus seated left on low throne, holding long scepter in his left hand and eagle standing right with closed wings in his right; to left, bipennis between Δ-I. Price 2076. Beautifully toned. The obverse struck from a slightly worn die, otherwise, good very fine.
