★ Very rare and of splendid style ★

KINGS OF MACEDON. Philip II, 359-336 BC. Stater (Gold, 18 mm, 8.53 g, 12 h), Abydos, struck under Leonnatos, Arrhidaios, or Antigonos I Monophthalmos, 323-317. Laureate head of Apollo to right. Rev. ΦΙΛΙΠΠOY Charioteer driving biga to right, holding reins in his left hand and goad in his right; below horses, monogram of ΔY and cornucopiae. Le Rider -. SNG ANS 295 ( same dies ). Very rare and of splendid style. Light traces of mounting, otherwise, good very fine.
