Description

SICILY. Syracuse. Hieron II, 275-215 BC. AE (Bronze, 26 mm, 18.16 g, 3 h). Diademed head of Hieron II to left. Rev. ΙΕΡΩΝΟΣ Helmeted cavalryman riding horse prancing to right, holding couched lance with his right hand; below forelegs, T. CNS II 195. SNG ANS -. Somewhat rough and with some corrosion on the edge, otherwise, very fine.
