Description

BRUTTIUM. Kroton. Circa 425-350 BC. Didrachm or Nomos (Silver, 21 mm, 7.78 g, 7 h). Eagle, wings closed, standing right on Ionic capital; to right, olive branch. Rev. ϘPO Tripod with three handles, ornamental volutes below the bowl and legs ending in lion's paws, adorned with fillet hanging down on the left. HN Italy 2144. SNG ANS 339 ( same dies ). Nicely toned. Some flan faults, otherwise, good very fine.

From a European collection, formed before 2005.
