★ Struck from dies of fine style ★

LUCANIA. Herakleia. Circa 390-340 BC. Didrachm or Nomos (Silver, 22 mm, 7.73 g, 9 h). Head of Athena to right, wearing single-pendant earring, necklace and crested Attic helmet decorated with Skylla throwing stone; to right, [EY]. Rev. ՒHPAKΛEIΩN Herakles standing right, strangling the Nemean lion; to left, AΠΟΛ and club; below, oinochoe. HN Italy 1378. SNG ANS 66. Van Keuren 51 ( same obverse die ). Weber 706 ( same dies ). Struck from dies of fine style. The obverse somewhat off center and the reverse struck from a slightly worn die, otherwise, nearly extremely fine.
