ARMENIA, Cilician Armenia. Royal. Gosdantin I , 1298-1299. Tram (Silver, 22 mm, 2.83 g, 11 h), Sis. +ԿՈՍՏԱՆԴԻԱՆ ՈՍ ԹԱ ԳՈՐ ՀԱՅ ('Gosdantin King of the Armenians' in Armenian) Gosdantin, bearded and crowned, on horseback to right, his head facing, holding the reins with his left hand and a sword in his right; below, two pellets. Rev. +ԿԱՐՈՂՈԻԹԲՆ ԱՅ Ե ԹԱԳՈՐ ('by the will of God he is King' in Armenian) Gosdantin, bearded and crowned, standing facing in a long elaborate tunic, holding sword in his right hand and short Latin cross in his left; to lower left and right, pellet. AC 416. CCA 1724. Very rare. Struck on a somewhat short flan and with light doubling as usual , otherwise, nearly extremely fine.
