CELTIC, Northeast Gaul. Leuci. 2nd century BC. Stater (Gold, 24 mm, 7.24 g, 9 h), 'au cheval retournant la tête' type. Celticized laureate male head to right. Rev. Celticized horse to right, head turned to left and ending in a fibula-like ornament; above to left, two volutes and a branch; below horse, pellet-within-annulet within circle of pearls; to right, X. DT 136 var. (without X). LT 9000. Rare. Very fine.
