Description

LUCANIA. Herakleia. Circa 330/25-281 BC. Didrachm or Nomos (Silver, 21 mm, 7.71 g, 2 h). Head of Athena to right, wearing Corinthian helmet decorated with Skylla hurling a stone; behind, K. Rev. HPAKΛEIΩN - AΘA Herakles standing facing, head to left, holding club with his right hand and bow, arrow and lion's skin with his left; aryballos. HN Italy 1384. Van Keuren 85. Somewhat rough , otherwise, very fine.
