Description

Sextus Pompey, † 35 BC. As (Bronze, 31 mm, 22.08 g, 1 h), Sicily, circa 42-38. Laureate janiform head of Pompey the Great. Rev. PIVS / [IMP] Prow of galley to right. Babelon (Pompeia) 20. Crawford 479/1. RBW 1675. Sydenham 1044. A lovely example with a dark olive-green patina. Minor flan crack , otherwise, very fine.
