Description

TAURIC CHERSONESOS. Chersonesos. Circa 110-90 BC. Drachm (Subaeratus, 18 mm, 3.14 g, 12 h), Apollonida..., magistrate. Turreted head of Artemis to right, bow and quiver behind neck. Rev. XEP / AΠOΛΛΩNIΔ[A] Stag standing right. Anokhin 808. Anokhin, Khersonesa, 180. Frolova & Abramzon 539 ( same obverse die ). SNG Stancomb 496. Rare. A well centered and attractive example. Minor traces of overstriking as usual and with light deposits on the reverse , otherwise, good very fine.
