CELTIC, Central Europe. Noricum (East). 1st century BC. Obol (Silver, 10 mm, 1.02 g, 9 h). Male head to left, the strands of hair upwards like flames and the neck formed in the shape of an A. Rev. Rauch MBS 11 (2006), 40 ( same obverse die ). Very rare and in exceptional condition for the issue. Struck from fresh dies on sound silver. Minor scrapes , otherwise, extremely fine.

This unpublished issue is heavily influenced by the Athena-Alkis-series of the Boii. A number of examples have shown up over the years, but most of them were struck in poor silver and are heavily worn.
