CELTIC, Northeast Gaul. Ambiani. Circa 60-50 BC. Stater (Gold, 17 mm, 6.12 g). Blank convex surface. Rev. Celticized horse galloping to right, horseman transformed into a fibula-like figure, crescents and pellets around; below, ornamented ground line. DT 239. LT 8710. Van Arsdell 54/2. Sharply struck and unusually clear, an attractive example. Tiny marks on the obverse , otherwise, extremely fine.
