Valentinian II, 375-392. Semissis (Gold, 17 mm, 2.24 g, 1 h), Treveri, June 389-391. D N VALENTINI-ANVS P F AVG Pearl-diademed, draped and cuirassed bust of Valentinian II to right. Rev. VICTORIA AVGVSTORVM / T - R / COM Victory seated to right on cuirass, inscribing VOT / XV / MVLT / XX on oval shield supported by a winged genius standing to left. Depeyrot 53/4 (1 specimen, same obverse die ). RIC -. Of the highest rarity, apparently the second known example. Minor flan fault on the edge and with some minor marks , otherwise, extremely fine.
