Gordian I, 238. Denarius (Silver, 20 mm, 2.84 g, 6 h), Rome, March-April 238. IMP M ANT GORDIANVS AFR AVG Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Gordian I to right, seen from behind. Rev. ROMAE AETERNAE Rome seated left on shield, holding Victory in her right hand and a spear with her left. BMC 8. Cohen 8. RIC 4. Rare. A lustrous example with a splendid portrait. Light deposits on the reverse , otherwise, good extremely fine.
